Mom's in town!

Friday, April 27, 2012

My mom is one of my favorite people to be around. I'm the fruit of her loins, and we're both a good time. So what's not to love? She lives in Tennessee, and since we (basically) live in Mexico, I haven't seen her since Christmas Day. I'm pretty sure that's the longest we've ever gone. Butttt she's visiting this week! So we are having all kinds of fun catching up (as much as we can since we talk every day), shopping, and laying out by the pool. She's also our first house guest since we've been married, (we basically have no friends.) which is perfect cause she isn't going to get her panties in a wad over my ineptness at being a hostess. (Oh, you need towels? And a pillow?)

Last night we went a fancy-go-schmancy restaurant called the Tower of the Americas. It's essentially like a space needle. Like a gazillion stories up, and you're spinning the whole time. (A very weird feeling.) The view was incredible. And the food... well, I don't know if my taste buds will ever be satisfied again. We all kinda felt like we didn't belong there. I kept talking in a hick accent to egg on the white-trash look we were pulling. It was a great time.

Never leave, mommy!

Aw, I'm so envious! I haven't seen my mama since Christmas either, but I get to visit in two weeks so I'm psyched!

Also, can we point out how slammin' you look in that white top (dress?)? So cute!

Haha, I feel the same way about my mom... NEED HER! :) But she lives closer to me so I generally get to see her every few weeks.

Uhhh, I did that at one of my sister's bridal showers, haha. Turns out I'm not very good at being simultaneously fancy, sweet and delicate for longer than 20 minutes, tops. We still laugh about it...

Have fun with your mom!

Ah this is such a lovely post! There's nothing quite like a visit from good old Mummy!

I'm also quite impressed with that spinning restaurant you speak off. The UK needs to start being a little more adventurous with its culinary outlets! I hope you and your mother have a glorious time!

That place looks/sounds awesome-- I totally get what you mean about feeling out of your element in a fancy place!! Fun, but totally not what I'm used to! LOL. Our wedding night we actually stayed in a hotel, that had a revolving restaraunt on the top. Probably the largest, most delicious brunch I've EVER had in my life lol

Great photos! I get to see my momma dukes on June 8th! That's when we get married :) ah! I haven't seen her in 2 years so it'll be nice to have her and my dad fly in from Turkey! P.S. I just bought a white dress and I need to get it altered!
