Finally, it's Friday

Friday, March 9, 2012

Dear Friday: I'm so glad you're finally here. Your arrival means tomorrow I get to see Grahm after a long and emotionally taxing (I'm needy) eight days. I can't wait for tomorrow! Having him home will be wonderful (for obvious reasons), but it'll also be nice to not think I'm going to die every time I hear a strange sound in the middle of the night.

Dear Wal-Mart: Good lord, you've got the Easter candy out in full throttle. I mean, are three aisles really necessary? While I normally appreciate the chocolately, caramel goodness in convenient egg-like (mouth-size) shapes, I am trying to eat better. Thanks for making it ten times more difficult with all the glorious pastel colors and fun-size packages.

Dear Lauren: You've been one of my favorite bloggers for a while now (at crazy ever after), but this week you will took the cake. Thanks for being so great and emailing me lots of advice/encouragement. I appreciate you more than you know! (I'll let you know if I get it soon!) ... Wow that was ambiguous.

Dear Straight No Chaser (aka the band that sings the awesome rendition of the "12 Days of Christmas"): Last week I went to see one of your shows with my wonderful in-laws. Apparently you have more than Christmas songs going for ya, who knew? You guys were fun and talented... but evidently there's two SNC groups. One profesh, one not so much. We saw the not so much. They were still awesome though, and we enjoyed hearing ten guys sing a zillion songs acapella.

I tweeted about our disappoint in not getting the real deal. Almost immediately a SNC member (of the profesh group) and their band's manager tweeted back! Long story short, I scored free tickets to their upcoming show in Austin. I don't think I've ever gotten anything free in my life, so I'm a little over excited about these.

Moral of this story: Complain on Twitter and good things happen?

Dear Grahm: Our apartment has been lonely without you here. I'm so excited to have you back. I've learned a lot in your absence. 1) I'm a total slob without you here. 2) God definitely did NOT give me the gift of singleness. 3) I married the right person, for sure. I've mostly missed holding your hand and laughing with you, is that weird? I mean I can't exactly hold my own hand and laugh at my own jokes, the neighbors already think I'm crazy with all the scream singing.

Hurry home, booger buns!

I spent 6 days separated from my man to visit home this past week. It was pathetic how badly I missed him. Glad to see I'm not the only one who ceases to function in their love's absence ;)

I'm the same way with the candy aisle at Wal-Mart. We just finished Valentine's Day - I at least need a good month and a half of recovery before I dive into more candy!

Just came across your blog from Ashley's link-up and I love it! I had to be apart from my husband for the first time last weekend (only 3 days) and it was torture! I definitely don't have the gift of singleness either! You have a new follower :)

I hate it when my husband is out of town too! I end up sleeping at my parents a lot of the times even though I feel like a baby! : ) why is candy so good and hard to say no too???

I'm also REALLY bad at being on my own - Jurgen was in Switzerland for 3 weeks this past November (not sure if I already told you this), and I almost died! Glad your hubs will be back tomorrow :)

i hate being alone! Hubby plans a golf trip every year and he's gone for 2-3 nights...and I hate that! I can't imagine 8!

I must stay far, far away from the Easter candy aisle!

Awwww. I am definitely feeling the love today. I am just now reading this, and it seriously put the icing on my already stellar Friday. Thanks for the shout out. You are definitely one of my ATF's too. All time favs. ;) And score on the usage of ambiguous. I learned that word as a very young child while watching SNL. They had a skit called the ambiguously gay duo. And when is the show in Austin? I need to know when to schedule my flights to TX.

Haha, my husband was away for a weekend and I FREAKED at every single sound! It was miserable and I couldn't sleep.

The Holiday candy section at wal-mart is always super tempting :) I always try to avoid it :)

I came across your blog from Ashley's blog for Fridays Letters. I too had to fight my innerself this week when I went to wal-mart to get some more healthy food for my lunches and I ended up by the Easter Candy isle. Luckily the outter-self won that battle. But I predict many more trips between now and Easter and pretty sure the inevitable might happen ): Enjoy your weekend.

So exciting that you'll be seeing Grahm tomorrow! I'm exactly the same with my man, I even cry at the airport if we are going to be away for each other for 4 days... Baby much?

Here in Taiwan there are NO Easter candy, and that's way worse than having 3 aisles to choose from, isn't it?

Have a lovely weekend, lovely Jena!

Oh I love anything free, way to go. And the one thing my Walmart is missing is Rolo's. They have every candy under the sun but those. I need them for a little St. Patricks treat I am making and couldn't find them at Walmart. Doesn't Walmart have everything?
