My kind of grown-up Christmas list

Monday, December 5, 2011

Christmas is coming up. Oh, you already knew that?

Well with this fantastic season comes lots and lots of shopping, which normally isn't a problem for me. I'm discovering, however, my talents are really only in purchasing items for ME. I'm at a total loss when it comes to others. I always pick the wrong thing.

It's nice having someone to bounce ideas off of this time around. Grahm and I knocked out several people this weekend at Penn Square Mall. No, we didn't beat anyone to a bloody pulp (although several slow walkers and screaming children tempted us). We just crossed family members off our list. They're done. Finished. Knocked out. Such a good feeling!

As for me, I already have everything I could ever want/need as cliche as that sounds. I don't even recall being extra good this year :) Grahm is the best husband in the world (he even remembers to put the seat down!) who is a blast to live with. We're starting a new adventure in a few weeks and moving into nice (BIG) apartment. Our families are awesome. I mean, really, what more do I need?

These are the few things I thought of.
This basically gives away one of my New Year's resolutions. But this thing is awesome! You can record all the crap you shoved down your throat that day so you feel super guilty about it.
Winning in a losing kind of way.
There is an ungodly amount of covers out there. Most of it is like Vera Bradley stuff for me,
I either love love love it or can't stand it. P.S. I decide to name my new phone Ingrid. Ingrid the Iphone.
Speaking of Vera, I'm a little obsessed with her. My in-laws are way too good to me and like to indulge my VB fever. Grahm got me the extra large duffel when we were packing for our honeymoon, but this would be nice for a weekend trip.  Isn't Folkloric pretty?
The fact that this is even on my list means that I've officially turned into my mother. (That's a good thing, mom.)
I've been doing some serious crafting lately, gearing up for Christmas and all. I can't show you any of my fantastic creations because they're all presents, and I don't want to take the off-hand chance that my family will actually read my blog. So brace yourself for an abundance of pictures coming in 2012.

All that to say --- my crafting would be put on an entirely different level if I had one of these. Oh man,  I would just love to have it! Grahm doesn't know this, but I secretly have plans to convert our spare bedroom in the new apartment to a craft room. Mwhahaha. This could be dangerous, my friends.
More practically, we are moving soon and we need furniture.  Like a ton of it. A sofa is our first priority. I just really want it to be heather gray. I've got some great ideas for decorating. Pinterest, you're to blame.

How about you? What's on your Christmas list?

Ok, totally with you on shopping for other people. I end up shopping for myself, honestly. So wrong, I know! And I (we) got a sewing machine as one of our wedding presents, and I have yet to open it. Sewing is on my NY Resolutions!

Super cute blog!

Ooo I own so much Vera. I told Matt I would name our daughter Vera if he'd let me, haha!

I always wanted a Singer sewing machine but I have this incredible fear that I will sew my fingers while using it. Seriously. I have issues.

we desperately need furniture too, after we get a fence for the dog. Oh the life of grownups :)

You shouldn't knock out your family... it isn't very nice. ;) just kidding...

My aunt works at a store that sells vera, and gets an employee discount.... it tends to lead to me having many vera items.

I want a wellness journal! I use an iphone app now that's worked really well for me but I've always preferred writing things down

My Christmas list is pretty simple this year...maybe that has to do with the fact that I am expecting any day! Thanks for stopping by my blog, I'm following you now as well!

That's cool that you're really getting into crafting. And kudos to you for being able to write in a wellness journal daily. If something makes me feel guilty, I tend to avoid it.

Anything crafty is on my wish list this year too :) I also told people anything off our registry that hasn't been purchased-- we still want! LOL, I'm easy... no big items except an iPad, and I don't think Santa plans on bringing one. Oh, well!

(Ps- Thanks for your comment. I'm so glad you left a note because I'm LOVING your blog already!)

If I may, Janome sewing machines = amazing in every way. New singers aren't super-awesome and Janome has every price range ever. Just a thought :)
